Editorial Evaluation & Cost Analysis for CashX
Our banking research team evaluated CashX based on four core criteria: legal corporate registration with the Registrar General of Companies in Colombo, contract fee transparency, adherence to ethical debt collection standards, and payout speed.
1. Cost Structure & APR Conversion
CashX publishes a fee model of 0.01% - 2.2% daily service rate (0% promotional rate on first loan). Our editorial team has converted this into an estimated annualized rate of approximately 146% APR equivalent. Calculated using standard 30-day term factoring promotional first-loan discounts vs recurring fees.
2. Eligibility & Documents Required
To qualify for a loan with CashX, you will need:
- NIC (National Identity Card)
- Active Mobile Number
- Personal Bank Account
3. Disbursement & Payout Methods
Approved loan funds are disbursed directly to your Sri Lankan commercial bank account (including Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Sampath Bank, Bank of Ceylon, Hatton National Bank, and People's Bank).
Digital micro-lenders in Sri Lanka (offering short-term personal loans of Rs 3,000–Rs 300,000 for 5–30 day terms or installment options) operate as non-deposit-taking private limited companies incorporated under the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007. They are registered with the Registrar General of Companies (ROC) in Colombo and are NOT required to hold a finance company licence from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) — as that regulatory framework applies to deposit-taking institutions under the Finance Business Act.
This is an important distinction: the absence of a "CBSL licence" does not make these lenders illegal or unregulated. Their incorporation under the Companies Act, membership in DALA (Digital Alternative Lending Association), and adherence to the Debt Recovery Act (No. 2 of 2015) provide the applicable legal framework for their operations.
OnlineLoanLanka independently verifies every lender's ROC registration number at time of review. If you want to independently verify a lender, you can search for their Private Limited (PV) company registration at the Registrar General of Companies office in Colombo.
